Palm Desert High School Foundation presents…

Scholarship Opportunity

Up to four PDHS students will be awarded a share of a $1K scholarship made possible by our donor, Chip Joseph Lyman III.  Open to any female PDHS student who has participated on a sports team during high school.  Applicants must write a 400 - 700 word essay (see details below)  Applications are due May 2, 2022  Winners will be announced before the end of the school year

To participate, send an email to Annette Moranda, PDHS Foundation Corresponding Secretary, at netbak@aol.com which MUST include the following information:

Your Name
Your Email Address
Your Phone Number
Your Grade Level
List sports teams on which you’ve participated
Name and email address of your coach
Word count of your essay, not including title
Paste the text of the essay into your email, and attach it as a .pdf or a .docx

All entries must have a title. They should be a minimum of 400 words and not exceed 700 words, excluding title. Evaluation is based on the criteria outlined in the rubric. Essays should be written in response to one of the following prompts:

In what way has participation in sports changed one of your beliefs or challenged your perceptions  OR

Describe a time when you failed during a sports situation and what you learned from that experience  OR  

Chose your own topic regarding a personal experience that relates to sports.
